For Better or Worse

This morning when I got into my car to go to work, I found this comic strip cut out of the newspaper stuck onto the steering wheel. I guess you could say it's a little love note from my hubby. It made me laugh so I thought I'd share it with you.If the image is too small, click on the picture and it will take you to the website.

A visit to Jenn's

I was going through my phone last night and found some pictures from a visit to Jenn's about a month ago. I loved the pictures and thought I'd share them with you!

Here are Haylee and Justin being cute little dork kids! I love their little faces!!

And here we have Katelynn and Darrien playing Kingdom Hearts on the playstation! My kids aren't really gamers, but they love to watch Darrien play. They take after their mama that way! I rememeber watching Shawn play his games for hours and hours without any interest in playing myself!

And my personal favorite...Aunt Nap Nap dancing around the living room with CC girl! I don't know which one was enjoying themselves more!

Oops, she did it again!

I debated on posting about this, but I decided that I wanted to share the "slang" with parents so that they have the option to protect their children.

Britney Spears has done it again. She continually sets the bar and then takes a giant leap over it!Her new single, If U Seek Amy, is definitely one of those leaps!

If you are anything like me, the title does not seem too offensive at first sight. I didn't understand it. There has been a lot of controversy about it, but no one was coming out and saying why. The only thing I could understand was that the title wasn't what it seemed to be. Now that the song has been released, I get it. The title phonically spells out F*** Me.

The chorus lyrics are:
Love me, Hate me
Say what you want about me
But all of the boys
And all of the girls
Are begging to if you seek Amy

WOW!

And sadly, she is getting passed censorship on some radio stations because "technically" she's not cussing. What makes it worse is that it is a very catchy song! It has an awesome dance beat, very much in the Britney style!

Anyways..I wanted to share it with you because I have a feeling it is going to become new slang. If you check up on text messages and myspace pages, look out for slang that may not be as innocent as it sounds...well, looks.

Click here for a link to the song to determine for yourself the danger it may or may not be for your family.

Cabin Fever

The family is definitely getting cabin fever.

Every chance we have to be outside, we take it!

The weather has been really nice the last couple of days. So nice that all of the snow has melted and has left us with a lot of mud. But, of course, that doesn't stop the kids!

Justin was very content shoveling the mud from one spot to the next while Ciara played on the swing set. In her words it was "fun fun!"

So cute!

HSM3

To the kids' (and mine) excitement we bought High School Musical 3 this weekend! I am a big fan of these movies! I enjoy the music and the dancing! It is always a lot of fun for us to watch! Shawn, on the other hand, despises the movies! He doesn't understand our fascination with it and cringes every time the kids ask to watch it. So he was not to thrilled to see that we now own another one.

The kids have already watched it several times! So many now, that even I am asking them to take the movie downstairs to watch it.

I went downstairs to check on them and one of the musical numbers was on. So being the fan that I am, broke out in song and dance! When the song was over, Justin was just staring at me with an odd look on his face.

He says, "Mom. What are you doing?"

"What do you mean, what am I doing? I'm dancing!"

"Oh. Is that what that was!?"

What a turkeybutt! LOL

Katie, being the sweet angel that she is, stood up for me right away.
"I love Mom's dancing! She is a great dancer!"

I laughed, gave them both a kiss and went back upstairs so they could enjoy the movie without my "dancing" to distract them! LOL

The itsy bitsy spider

The itsy bitsy spider
Went up the water spout
Down came the rain
And washed the spider out

Poor Katelynn.

I always keep a jug (one of those hospital jugs that you get when you're admitted) of water by my bedside. Katelynn was thirsty and went into my bedroom to grab a quick drink.

She came out screaming and crying, holding her mouth. She said something was in the water and it hurt her, but she had thrown it to the ground so I didn't know what it was.

We looked on the floor and she found it. It liked like a little wet ball. She was scared to pick it up, so she showed it to me. When I picked it up and examined it, it was a little squished spider.

The spider bit her tongue!

I do not know if the spider was actually in the straw, water, or just on the cup, but it was alive at the time and got into her mouth!

Poor thing!

Needless to say, we threw away all of our jugs. It will be a clear glass or bottled water with a lid for us, thanks!

"You're Rude!"

When Katelynn was a baby I bought her this soft pillow-type, Winnie The Pooh book. Pooh is attached to a string and can be incorporated into each page of the little story. The kids have always loved that book!

Last night the older two were playing with it when they got tired of it, set it on the table, and started playing with something else. When Ciara saw it on the table she grabbed it and was playing with the Pooh doll.

Suddenly, Justin rips the book out of her hands, knocking his baby sister to the floor and says, "Hey! I was playing with that!"

Ciara was a bit stunned, as if she wasn't quite sure what happened yet.

I scolded Justin, made him give her back the book and apologize.

It was then that CC got a pouty look on her face, took the book back, and said "You're rude!"

We all just started laughing. So then, of course, for the rest of the night she walked around telling everyone that they were rude.

Quick Note

I just wanted to write a quick little post about how proud I am of all of the kids! They have been sleeping in their own beds now for a while. And have been doing so without complaint! I am very proud of them and am excited that they will be getting a trampoline in the spring!

Great job!!

Make sure and buckle up!

I am so excited that I get to tag along with Jenn and her family on vacation in May.

Jennifer was telling me how she told the kids that they get to fly on an airplane and Haylee is not responding the way Jenn thought she would. She is terrified. So Jenn asked if Haylee could call my kids and talk to them about it since they have all flown before.

So I was talking to Justin yesterday while we were waiting for Katelynn to get out of school. And it went a little something like this...

"Guess what Bud!? Haylee is going to call you tonight! She is a little scared about going on the airplane."

"It's ok Mom. I'll protect her."

"I know. You are such a sweet boy. When she calls you tonight, you have to tell her how much fun it is!"

"I'll tell her the detrucksions. If you unbuckle during blast off...you die."

I almost chocked I was laughing so hard! I quickly explained to him that you do not die, but you could get hurt so you have to stay buckled. I was relieved when he did not share that part of the "detrucksions" with Haylee when she called.

38 Things

So once again, I have received one of those odd ball questionnaires. I usually don't like to respond, but it's Friday and I'm in a good mood. So instead of sending it via email I will post it here. If you'd like to respond, copy and paste it into your own blog with your own answers!

Added Pictures

I added the pictures for the Box Car Children post. Again, I ask you to ignore the bottle. I have pretty much given up for a little bit. I'm not ready for the war.

Box Car Children

Justin made a car out of a fruit box in preschool yesterday! The kids always enjoy doing this! Katelynn did it in preschool as well.

Well, being the good Daddy that he is, Shawn made the other two kids boxes as well. Ciara's was pretty simple, with some ribbon around the top.

And Katie's, he just got the box ready for her so that she could decorate it herself.

Well...Katelynn really liked Ciara's ribbon. So she asked me to do the same. We didn't have any more curling ribbon, so I pulled out my old ribbon from when I used to glue bows to Ciara's hair as an infant. I had a ton of leftovers!

So I poked the holes and started! Man! It is not as easy as it sounds to weave ribbon through a box! And she wanted ribbon on the top AND the bottom! I finally had to make the holes way bigger then expected and it worked ok.

So the kids "drove" all around the house last night. Sadly, I did not get any pictures. I will try to take some tonight and add them to this post tomorrow. But they had so much fun, I just had to write about it!

Now, if we can only get Ciara to stop ripping off everyone's steering wheels!

Ciara's Hair

I hate to go on about Ciara, but here's another quick story.

I have always enjoyed doing Katelynn's hair, but she went through a "I can do it myself" phase. We are still in that phase but she now let's me do her hair from time to time.

Around Christmas I tried to do Ciara's hair a few times. It was a bit of a hassle. She doesn't have a whole lot of hair on the top so there's not much I can do with it. And she was not cooperative by any means!

Recently (maybe the last month or so) I have been doing CC's hair more often. And she LOVES it now! I just pull it back in a pony tail (it reminds me of Will Turner from Pirates LOL) but it gets her used to me doing her hair and gives it a bit of a tidier look. (The pic was taken at the end of the day so it is a bit messy)

The trick to get her to enjoy me doing her hair was two things..

One: I had to put her in front of a mirror so she could see herself.

Two: Compliments. Compliments. Compliments.

When she has her hair done, she runs around the house with this funny little expression like "Hey look at me! Aren't I so pretty!" And she just loves it up when you tell her that yes..she is beautiful! It is too funny!

Well Katie brought home a flower hair piece from school last week. She bought it with her classroom money and Ciara just loves it! Katelynn doesn't let her play with it too often, but isn't she so pretty??

Saying Prayers

Ciara has been participating in prayer for a little while now. She folds her arms (or I should say hands) and shoots "AMON!" at the end. Sometimes she gets so excited to shoot that she doesn't wait for the prayer to officially end.

She also gets down on her knees during our good night prayers. And is a good example to her brother and sister who sometimes just don't want to kneel down.

Well this week, she has started to "say" prayer. I usually help Justin with his prayers. He doesn't like saying them on his own, so he will repeat after me. Now Ciara is doing the same thing. It is very sweet and oh so adorable! Of course she doesn't say word for word but it is still as cute as ever!

Blogging

My blogging on the other sites has taken a different turn on traditional blogging. And even though I just BARELY started the Harry Potter blog, I think I am going to pull back the reins. I will not delete them, but I will rarely post on them. It is taking far too much of my time and I can not do it all during my breaks.

I may be changing positions at work in the very near future and I will have to concentrate on learning the new job and finding my niche so I will probably be posting on this blog less and less as well. (Not that I have been posting regularly for a few weeks now.) But I do plan to keep it open. So do not fear.

I love you all!!

Accio Harry Potter

So I didn't think I had enough to keep my busy so I started a new blog about another passion of mine...Harry Potter!

Come check it out!
