First day of Kindergarten!!

My little man started his first day of Kindergarten today!

We were kinda nervous. Saturday night he woke up at about midnight vomiting and continued to wake up for repeat performances throughout the night! I didn't know it was possible to throw up 5 times in one night with nothing in your stomach!!

Sunday he pretty much spent the day in bed with a fever. We ended up taking him to the doctor in the early evening because I couldn't break his fever and I always get so nervous when that happens. Plus I couldn't get him to eat or drink anything. I am a worrier! So Shawn took him in while I stayed home with the girls.

He came home shortly after and said to just keep doing what we're doing, that he was fine and if he felt better he could even go to school.

About 8 o'clock last night his fever finally broke and he became semi-human again.

This morning he felt fine so he didn't have to miss his first day of school!

I was so sad that I couldn't be there to see him off, but Shawn sent me a picture. When I saw it I literally laughed out loud.
I promise, he was happy!
I love you Little Man! I am sooo glad you are feeling better and I CAN'T WAIT to hear about your day!

Classifieds!

Just one more thing.

Today when I got into work the job classifieds were sitting on my desk. How odd. Is this some kind of omen? Nope! It's me! Smiling up at me!
The photo shoot that I did last year has finally made it's round!

First day of school!

Yay!

Katelynn's first day of 2nd grade was Monday!
She has been so excited to go back to school!

I took the day off to help see her off. After we dropped her off, I should have gone to work. I was supposed to go to work. But how could I when I had the whole day scheduled. I was on my way when my personal navigator turned my car around and drove me to my Mom's. Instead, I hung out with her. It was nice. She was just fretting over math so it was good to get her away.
We went and did a little school shopping for Charlotte and hung out at Jordan Landing for a bit. Then it was time to get Boo from school and I really needed to get back home to my family.

I was so happy to pick Katie up! She had a fantastic day!

Tuesday I played hookey as well. I had the morning scheduled to meet Justin's teacher. He starts full day Kindergarten on Monday.

When I called work and they told me that I was approved for the full day vs just the morning off of work, I couldn't force myself to go in on Tuesday either!

So I took Justin and Ciara out to get Justin's school clothes and to hang out. We had lunch at the IHOP and walked down dozens of toy aisles just for fun.

We ended up at RC Willey's at one point. (I really need a new couch, but I know it's only dream shopping!) Justin had a good time pushing Ciara around in the little cart. And visa versa. Hahaha Justin didn't like it when he saw the camera and tried to get out of the cart.

So that's about it for now. I'm back to work. ::sniff sniff:: I had such a great weekend with my family, I really didn't want it to end.

I forgot to mention CiCi's haircut!

So not a big deal, but I got so sick of Ciara's hair always being in her eyes!

She is such a pretty girl and I can never see her!
She let's me do her hair and then tears it out instantly, ripping out hair in the process.

So I've come to the conclusion that I can not do her hair. She's not like Katelynn. Katelynn didn't keep her hair in until I found this tiny rubber bands than it was just too hard to take out and gave up rather quickly. Ciara is not giving up.

So I am.
I cut her bangs. I was so nervous, but I did it. And they don't look half bad. They only look half good, but that's better than half bad. At least her hair is out of her face and I can see her pretty eyes.

Lots to post about...

I have a lot to post about. We had a great weekend!

Shawn took some time off of work to get some stuff done around the house and yard. This time of year kills him. He starts going into autumn panic mode! The only relation I have is of a squirrel scurrying to gather the rest of his nuts for the winter! Poor guy gets so scatter brained and frantic about what needs to be done before the snow!

Well, he didn't get a whole lot done cuz the time off turned into family time. Which no one complained about!

Saturday we got up early, packed the kids and a lunch and headed off to Jordenelle for a day of fishing! It was really fun! No one caught anything (unless you want to count the dead fish that we got on Katelynn's line...yuck!), but it was still fun nonetheless!
The kids had a great time playing in the water. I'm not an experienced fisher so I didn't realize that playing in the water was even a possibility. Next time, I'll be better prepared.

Ciara gave up on the water after a tiny spill but the other two were upset I wouldn't let them go out further. I think it brought back our fun memories at the beach this past spring and we all were so excited!

Sunday we got a call from Shawn's Mom saying she was going to make jam and asked if we wanted to learn how and help her. Shawn couldn't wait to go. He loves his Mom's jam and he has been wanting to learn how to jar and can so this was step one in his book.

I was a bit more hesitant. Learning to make jam would put the pressure on me to make it. And that makes me nervous.

But it was easy and fun! We made Strawberry Rhubarb, Blueberry, and Cherry. I am so excited to eat it!

So that was the weekend!

Chore Time

Every night after dinner the kids and I do our chores. And when I say kids and I, I mean Katelynn and I. She is always such a good helper! Justin, on the other hand goes deaf, blind, and dumb come chore time.

I swear it's like talking to a wall!

Last night was no different. It was time to do our chores. I do the kitchen, Katelynn straightens up the dinning room and bathroom, and Justin is supposed to clean up the toys out of the living room and straighten up the pillows on the couch. Not hard.

Even CiCi usually scoots a chair up to the sink to help me!

Last night I finished with the kitchen. Katelynn had done her chore. And the living room was still a mess.

Instead of the endless battle, I simply walked up to Justin and scooped him up in my arms without saying a word. He smiled up at me and I smiled back as I walked him back into his bedroom and gently set him on his bed. I kissed his forehead and whispered, "good night Buddy". Turned on the nightlight and left the room closing the door behind me. I think that is when it hit him. He begged and begged to be let out of his room so that he could help clean. But by then it was just too late. I kept my cool and did not yell or scream. I simply told him that if he refuses to help clean up then it is time for bed. He stayed there for the rest of the night.

Let's see if he helps clean up tonight!

My beautiful babies

I don't have a story or anything to go along with this pic. Just the pic.
I love my babies!

Bribbery is still the best policy!

Okay...so I know that I shouldn't bribe my kids...but it works!

I have had the hardest time getting Katie to sleep in her own bed. Every night I get a cryfest and a battle! And I usually lose because she sneaks into my room once I'm asleep anyways! It's crazy and driving me insane!

So it was time for a good old fashion bribe.

There is this silly little stuffed dog in a pink dress that Katie wants soooo badly! I bought it. Let her admire it. And put it in the closet!

After two weeks of chores and sleeping in her own bed ALL NIGHT without throwing shedding a single tear, she earns it!

Last night was day 2 and it's working!

Let's keep our fingers crossed that it continues to work!

RJ and Mandy Visit

For some reason, Blogger is not letting me update my text on the sidebar.

Rumor has it (and it is just a rumor, I've only been able to talk to RJ for a few minutes when he first came home) that he and Mandy will be here for a very short visit this coming weekend.

I'm really excited to be able to spend some time with him even if it's just for a day or so.

Love ya Bro! See you soon...I hope!!
